Sara Sculley, LPC, NCC, PMH-C

Licensed Professional Counselor | Perinatal Mental Health Specialist

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s in Education and a certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). I specialize in reproductive mental health and provide compassionate, tailored support to individuals navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum transitions, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, and the emotional complexities of parenthood.

Grounded in a person-centered and psychodynamic approach, I believe that healing begins with a strong, trusting relationship between therapist and client. By leading with empathy, understanding, and authenticity, I work hard to create a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their emotions, process past experiences, and develop greater self-awareness.

With a deep appreciation for the complexity of reproductive mental health, I prioritize connection and collaboration, ensuring that each client feels truly seen and heard. Through this relational approach, I help clients build resilience, navigate challenges, and move toward a place of healing and empowerment.

Dedicated to reducing stigma and increasing access to compassionate perinatal mental health care, I am passionate about supporting individuals through every stage of their reproductive journey, and beyond.

I offer teletherapy for individuals and couples seeking therapeutic services in PA and NJ, and supervision for pre-licenced individuals seeking their LPC and LCSW.

Specialities

At Vida Mental Health, I believe that mental health care begins with connection. Rooted in compassion and authenticity, my philosophy centers on the understanding that healing and growth happen within safe, trusting relationships. I honor each person’s unique story and work to create a space where clients feel deeply heard, seen, and supported—especially through the tender and complex experiences related to reproductive health.

My Philosophy

My Approach

  1. Relational & Collaborative
I approach therapy as a partnership. Grounded in relational theory, I recognize the power of human connection in fostering resilience and emotional well-being. Whether navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy, loss, parenthood, or identity transitions, I walk alongside my clients with empathy and care.

  2. Trauma-Informed & Culturally Sensitive
My work is rooted in a trauma-informed lens, honoring the impact of lived experiences on mental health. I recognize the influence of cultural identity, family systems, and intergenerational patterns, particularly within reproductive journeys. I strive to hold space that is inclusive, affirming, and respectful of all identities and backgrounds.

  3. Holistic & Integrative
I blend evidence-based practices—such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness—with attuned, person-centered and psychodynamic care. I also value collaboration with other providers when needed, to support the full spectrum of reproductive and emotional well-being.

  4. Warmth & Presence
Above all, I lead with warmth. I listen deeply. I care. I am present and engaged, creating an atmosphere of calm, encouragement, and hope. I aim not only to reduce distress, but to nurture life-affirming change and inner strength.

Services

Reproductive and perinatal experiences can deeply affect your emotional well-being—whether you're navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, grief and loss, or making decisions around parenthood.

At Vida Mental Health, individual therapy offers a safe, nonjudgmental space to process your emotions, find clarity, and reconnect with yourself during this vulnerable time. I honor the complexities of your experience and work collaboratively to support your healing, growth, and resilience.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, isolated, or unsure of what comes next, I’m here to listen and walk alongside you with warmth and compassion.

Individual Therapy

The journey to grow a family—whether through pregnancy, fertility treatment, loss, postpartum, or parenting—can profoundly impact a couple’s connection. It may bring up unexpected emotions, strain communication, and challenge even the strongest of bonds.

At Vida Mental Health, I specialize in supporting couples through the complex emotional terrain of reproductive and perinatal transitions. I provide a compassionate space to explore the impact these experiences have on each partner, rebuild trust, and strengthen your relationship during a time that can feel both beautiful and overwhelming.

Together, we work to foster empathy, restore emotional closeness, and help you move forward with a deeper understanding of one another.

Couples Counseling

Supervision is more than a requirement—it's a relationship built on trust, reflection, and growth. At Vida Mental Health, I offer clinical supervision for LPC and LCSW candidates that is collaborative, supportive, and rooted in ethical, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care.

With a warm, relational approach, I provide space to deepen your clinical skills, explore countertransference, navigate complex cases, and develop your professional identity. Whether you're working in reproductive mental health or other areas of practice, I am committed to helping you grow with confidence, integrity, and compassion.

I welcome supervisees from all backgrounds and offer both individual and group supervision formats.
